I showed it to my friends today – bad idea. The farewell scene I was so proud of, the scene that made me cry every single time, that I thought was bound to do the same for everyone who read it – failed. They laughed, loudly. Pointed out every flaw, some kinder than others, discussed how 'cheesy' it was, the amount of 'fluff' it contained, every minor flaw in flow, character, genre, the list goes on.
And what else could I do but hide my hurt and my burning face behind that damn mask and laugh along, offering to bring the crackers necessary to wade through my work. I told them a friend wrote it

I have no idea what I'm wearing to commencement, I'm procrastinating on that until midterms are done.... the day before commencement. Yes, I have skills. But I'm open to suggestion (I'm trying to find a good alternative to a dress. Ideas?)
